|
|
I had to reformat my computer, and I now have Startup Monitor on it.
It gives me an error that _startup_nu.exe is trying to log my
keystrokes. The program will not install unless I allow this. I
thought nu.exe was a Norton Utilities file. Anyone know what this
file is? I can't find it anywhere online. |

I can't help you on the nu.exe file but if it did not install with Norton
then I would uninstall it and scan your PC for spyware before installing
anything else.
Where did you get startup Monitor? I know that they say to disable A/V
software when installing QB so I would disable SM too. |

"NU.EXE" is, indeed, the old Norton Utility program. That doesn't mean:
1. That something else by the same name isn't running,
2. That a bit of maleware is masquerading as Norton,
3. That NU has been corrupted by a piece of malware.
The first dog out of the shoot should be to scan your machine with at least
three or four malware programs. |

Correction: Should be "... first dog out of the CHUTE...," although shooting
is sometimes appropriate in situations similar. |
