As a small business, here in UK, we have put a lot of time and energy into
quickbooks, and made a bit of a hash of it

When hunting around for a accountant calling themselves "quickbooks aware"
or quickbooks certified, were surprised to find that every single one had
less knowledge then ourselves on use of quickbooks, and our knowledge is
sadly limited. Do intuit allow ANY accountant to register themselves as
Quickbooks Certified !!

Can anyone direct us to a decent quickbooks accountant who actually knows
how to use quickbooks properly (preferably with good knowledge of
integrating quickbooks with office applications etc) ?

Thanks

Pauli

No. Where have you seen "QuickBooks Certified"? I have seen

"QuickBooks Financial Advisors" on QuickBooks website. I have not seen
anyone "QuickBooks Certified" unless it is self-certified.

I would suggest that integrating QuickBooks with MS Office

applications is quite advanced. If you've messed up your basic
QuickBooks bookkeeping you should get that sorted out first before
going on to MS Office integration.

When I first started in 1999 with quickbooks 6 I aproached a "Quickbooks
accountant" as listed with INtuit.

He was worse than useless. I didn't have a clue about accounting or
anything and he was devoid of basic human capabillities like... well,
like talking !

Since then, my quickbooks knowledge has slowly evolved, but all I have
been doing each year is simply printing off reports for the various
accounts within quickbooks and letting a "normal" accountant prepare the
accounts.

If you could find somone that could give you a 1 on 1 training course n
using quickboks it might help. If I knew then what I know now I would
have found the money to learn how to use QB and the basics of QB
accounting and saved myself a hell of a lot of late nights and messed up
accounts.

Good luck.
