Yes, that is the case in the US. The reason is that now the
accountant can do the reconciliation and send it back to the
client.
In my case and i'm sure in many otheresI use accountants copy to
do the year end -I don't reconcile banks the client does.
QB has been designed to be able to replace something like
Caseware -with the FS Designer and the ability to do comparative
leadsheet reports, memorize them, export them etc.. Prior to 2008
this was not an issue and now it is taken away.
What is taken away?
1. Convenience/time saving for both the accountant and the client
2. Something that worked before and now does not
Bullshit. The ability to do a bank reconcilation with the accountants
copy and pass it back to the client has been high up on the list of
most wanted features for years. I can't think of any other program on
the market that has this. For you to say that something was taken
away tells me you are without a clue.
You definitely can fill Allan's shoes and we all know they are BIG
BIG shoes -you certainly aspire to be just as ignorant as he is.
For my purposes it was -I don't do bank reconcilations -my clients are
taught how to do their own -it's not brain surgery.
Well it appears that you will have to make a small sacrifice for the
greater good. I thank you on all our behalfs.
And up yours too!!! A**H*L*E
Just in case anyone thinks that Haskell is also clueless like Mr. Smith
moi actually took the time to run old versions of QuickBooks and
confirmed that clients never had the ability to reconcile cash when there
was an active accountant's copy.
Therefore version 2008 is not a big bad poop, you can't have something
taken away you never had to begin with. In fact version 2008 now lets the
client reconcile all they want. The only draw back is if any transaction
gets cleared that was made on or before the cutoff date the reconcilation
is reversed when accountant's changes are brought in.
As is the case with most 'ugly' Americans of Allan's caliber he presumes
that the US edition of QB is the only one that exists in the world or at
least the only one that matters.

The next time I'm in Canada I'll pick up an old version of QB and prove you
are full of beans. Thanks for insulting my nationality dude, you are showing
exactly who you are.
USA! USA! USA!
