|
[Using Qkn Dlx 08 R7 on Vista Ultimate 32-bit]
Deleted from currency table several currencies no longer in use in
real world (i.e. Greek Drachma, French Franc) to make it easier for me
to traverse the table as I travel.
Unfortunately, Qkn seems to remember the relative position of a
currency in the table (vs. actual order), so when converting Euros to
US Dollars I wind up with results as if I had been converting Indian
Rupees.
Have backups galore, but have made a lot of entries and downloads and
would hate to repeat them.
Any way to "straighten out" Qkn or put back the original table?
Thanks.

I don't think your theory is correct. I did a quick test,
deleting a security, then adding it back. The fact that it
changed positions in the Currency List did not seem to have any
effect on Quicken's ability to find and use the correct currency
record. I also deleted another currency and had Quicken convert
using the currency in the list that had been right after the
currency I deleted; Quicken got the conversion correct.
You can probably restore the original currency list by turning
off "multi-currency support" then turning it back on again.
Backup first.
I'd be more inclined to think you have some corruption, possibly
in the currency list. If so, and since you'd rather not have
the non-existant currencies, you could also try making a Quicken
"Copy" of your data and Validating that Copy, then testing in
the Validated Copy. If things work correctly in the Validated
Copy, make that your regular file.

John, Thanks for suggestions. Results as follows...
1. Turning multicurrency option off and on did not restore original
currency list, but did allow Qkn to perform conversions correctly
using the currencies selected (one at a time, of course).
2. Copy was validated, but currency conversion did not function
properly until turning multicurrency option off, closing Qkn, opening
Qkn, then turning multicurrency option back on. (See 1 above).
Appreciate your quick response to my issues.
