|
|
When Billminder comes up and says I have transactions due, I click on
"Run Quicken" and Quicken opens as it should but Billminder remains
open and I have to close it manually. I recall all the previous
versions of Quicken closed Billminder as Quicken opened.
It's not a problem, more of a curiousity, but I'm wondering why 2008
should behave differently from previous versions?
Here's the official answer found on the Quicken forum when the same
question was asked:
http://www.quickencommunity.com/webx/.eff3dec/0?13
"In quicken 2008, the bill minder will not close automatically. You
need to close it manually. In the earlier versions of quicken, the bill
minder used to close automatically but in quicken 2008 this feature has
been changed. The bill minder does not close automatically in quicken
2008."
Weird, anyone know of a way to change that?
Again, it's not really a problem but I'd prefer it as it was in
previous versions.

In previous versions of Quicken, it was not possible to run
Billminder when Quicken was running, so when you started Quicken
from Billminder, Billminder would shut down.
Now Billminder can run at the same time Quicken is running, so
the automatic shutdown is no longer necessary.
I know of no option to force Billminder to close when Quicken is
opened.

Thanks but it's still desirable and, IMHO and that of others, it is
still necessary, I'm not alone in wanting it to close automatically.
From the same URL:
"IMHO, they just forgot to make this happen. There is absolutely NO
GOOD REASON to keep Billminder running after you've launched Quicken."

I was hoping, the above information is a few weeks old.
I agree with the above poster, it's got to be a mistake by Intuit, not
an intentional "feature."
