Quickbooks 2007 has a nice feature to Save As PDF for various documents.
This worked fine, but as soon as we installed Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Standard,
whenever we save from inside of Quickbooks Acrobat the application pops up
and complains we don't have a valid serial number. If you start Acrobat
by itself, it says it is registered. It *is* a legal license.

Has anyone else seen this behavior and what is the workaround?

Welcome back Willy Boy. Given the fact that this news group is slowing dying
even your frequent posts are more than welcome.

As a work around try printing and selecting the Adobe Print Driver as the
printer rather than using the "Save As PDF" feature.

That's a good idea, and for some of our users it should work fine. I'm
still hopeful that someone can make it work with the native built-in PDF
writer.

Folks,

you could use our (free) product billFLO as a work around for your
invoices at least. It creates pdf's of the invoices from QB and will
actually email them for you as well. It doesnt require adobe acrobat,
so you shouldn't see the error you are seeing currently.

Best of luck
Ian
P.S. you can download billFLO at www.billflo.com
