I dutifully followed all the instructions about how to convert the Citi
Quicken Visa to the Chase Quicken Visa. Today, I tried to register and
download the transactions between the 27th and yesterday. The system
doesn't recognize me as a Chase Customer. Customer service claims that
"they" ???? forgot to put "my" SS on file during the conversion. They
apologized and told me that it would be fixed in FIVE (5) business days.
I just knew that this conversion would be a problem. I find it hard to
believe that "they" just forgot to register just "my" SS number.

I know that the sale of this credit card portfolio from Citi to Chase
could have been handled transparently. Chase just wanted an opportunity
have an excuse to drop some marginal credit card accounts by not sending
new credit cards.

Good Luck to everyone else.

I just wasted 1.5 hrs trying to do the conversion. Couldn't get
activation number, because cell number or email address was not in my
account profile. Waited on hold 30 min (got to shave & use bathroom)
I can now log into the Chase site, but can't get quicken to download
my transactions.
The instructions say to rename the old Quicken Visa account, Then do
update, supposedly you can then enter new account number.
I been using Quicken for at least 10 years, this conversion was a
PIMA, so I'll just use a Discover card instead.

Reply to my own post. I guess I stayed up too late last night.

1) There were long phone delays today at Chase, and I had to call
because my email address wasn't available. So I couldn't have an
activation code emailed to me. That much is correct.

2) When I re-read the instructions, it clearly says: log into the
Chase site, go to customer tab>reference tab> activate Quicken or
Money link. ***that's the part I missed, then it worked correctly.

recognize my new card.

In order to use Chase Online (and be able to d/l Quicken Visa txns), you
*have* to be a Chase customer.

You could have set yourself up (instead of waiting 5 business days for
them to do it over the phone) by following the ""Sign Up" links on
www.chase.com/quicken. Sign up involves you entering your SSN & CC #,
followed by other personal info, and eventually ending with you
selecting a USer ID & p/w

Thanks Bill. What I've been trying to tell everyone, the signup fails
because Chase has no record of my SSN and therefore can't match it up
with the new credit card number.
