Have you also tried running it in XP compatibility mode?
Yea, have you tired? After all its not my data that could get corrupted
its yours.
I don't see how running a program under XP compatibility could corrupt a
QB data file. The whole purpose of that option is to be able to run older
programs under Xista. I know numerous people that are running 2004 under
this option without any problems.
Can you explain your statement?
When the Intuit clearly states that Versions 2007 and up are the only
versions that are supported in Vista Haskel does not take any chances. It
just does not pay not to upgrade QB to a version certified to work on that
operating system. Even if you can get an older version running there will
always be that doubt that any and all problems encountered are caused by
running the program in Vista.
I sure as hell would never tell any of my clients that its OK to run QB 2004
under Vista. Could there be file corruption, perhaps I don't know for sure
but then I will never know because Haskel practices safe computing and so
should you.

QB 2007 and up are only compatible with Vista, period. |

You need to buy QB 2008--the wholesale clubs have it for the lowest
price. Before you update their data file from 2002 to 2008, run the
verify & rebuild data. If you have access to 2005, it wouldn't hurt
to update the file from 2002 to 2005 and then to 2008. Don't forget
to back up the data file!

Many thanks for your help. If I run an upgrade on the PC to upgrade from

QB 2007 was the first version that could run on Windows Vista. Upgrade =

I have been training people on QB since 1999. It would be a "reach" to convert from |
2002 to 2008 versions. I just converted one of my clients QB data file from QB Pro
2004 to QB Premier 2008, FYI. David Bemiss,
